DENVER – Rain turned to snow overnight in the metro area and fell in heavy bands Tuesday morning – particularly along the metro-area I-70 corridor.
Winter weather advisoriesremain in effect for much of the metro area, the Palmer Divide, mountains and Western Slope through at least noon, when the snow is expected to taper off as it moves to the southeast.
Road conditions made for slow-moving traffic on Tuesday morning, and crashes closed several portions of highways across the Denver area and mountains.
