DENVER -- Cold air and snow has moved into Denver and the surrounding areas and will continue through Sunday. We will be under a Denver7 First Alert Action Day all day Sunday.
This powerful storm will bring heavy snow to the mountains and the Front Range/ Plains.
On Sunday, you will need to allow extra time to get where you are going. Winds will be gusting to 30-40 mph blowing snow and decreasing visibility~especially as you drive.
We are still expecting 6 to 12 inches or more in the mountains, 4 to 7 inches around Denver and the plains, and a band of about 6 to 10 inches from the Palmer Divide south of Denver to the northeastern portion of the state. A Blizzard Warning has been issued for the plains until midnight tonight for blowing snow and low visibility.
There is a Winter Storm Warning in effect for the entire Front Range today for snow, ice, high winds, and treacherous driving. Cities affected are Denver, Boulder, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Greeley, Ft. Collins, Sterling, Akron, Burlington, Limon, Kiowa and Elizabeth.
