It's a windy day in Colorado.
A High Wind Warning has been issued for parts of the Denver metro area and into the foothills. The National Weather Service said winds of 30 to 45 mph, with gusts of 75 mph to 90 mph, are expected in Douglas, Jefferson, Larimer, Boulder, Gilpin, Clear Creek, Broomfield, and Elbert counties until 5 p.m.

- Rocky Flats, 45 mph
- Littleton, 39 mph
- Buckley AFB, Aurora, 39 mph
- Copper Mountain, 36 mph
- Bennett, 24 mph
- Castle Rock, 24 mph
- Nederland, 21 mph
- Greeley airport, 17 mph
Gusts of up to 100 miles per hour can qualify as as powerful as a tropical storm, or even a tornado. Thus, they come with danger.
The Denver7 First Alert weather team said damage to trees, roofs and more are possible during severe wind events. It's recommended to have home and auto insurance in the event of any wind-related damage.
