DENVER — High clouds, but mild temperatures made for a delightful home opener for the Colorado Rockies Friday afternoon. Overnight the skies will be partly cloudy with lows in the 40s on the plains and 20s to low 30s in the mountains

A weak storm system will move across the central Rockies on Saturday, with a chance for showers and thunderstorms on the plains and some rain and snow for the mountains. Temperatures will be in the 60s on Saturday on the plains, with 40s in the mountains.

Skies will clear on Sunday and mild, dry pleasant weather will hold through Tuesday on next week. Highs will be in the 60s on Sunday in Denver and 40s to low 50s in the mountains.

Monday and Tuesday will be warm with highs in the low 70s over eastern Colorado and 50s in the mountains.

Another storm system may bring some rain and snow to western Colorado Tuesday afternoon.

This storm will have the potential for heavy mountain snow Tuesday night and Wednesday, especially along and north of I-70.

In Denver and across northeastern Colorado, rain will develop on Wednesday and change to snow in the afternoon. Temperatures will turn much colder on Wednesday with highs only in the 40s. There is a chance for several inches of wet, heavy snow Wednesday evening through early Thursday.
