DENVER — The wild ride in our Colorado weather will even out over the next few days as warmer and drier weather return for the weekend.

Highs stayed in the 50s Thursday afternoon with lingering rain and snow showers over the northern mountains.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies can be expected overnight with some lingering rain and snow showers over north-central Colorado. Lows will be in the middle 30s to low 40s.

A few showers will still be possible over the northern mountains and the northeast plains on Friday, but the overall pattern will be warming up and drying out.

Highs will be in the 60s to low 70s on the plains and mid-50s to low 60s in the mountains.

Saturday and Sunday will be warmer and dry across Colorado. Highs will return to the 80s for lower elevations and 70s in the mountains.

By early next week, hotter weather will return with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s for Denver and the eastern plains.

The cooler and wetter weather did ease the fire danger somewhat across Colorado, but the return to hot and dry conditions mean we still have to be extremely careful!
