Cool and quiet beginning to the holiday weekend

DENVER — A quiet weather pattern holds over Colorado, although a weak storm will swirl through southern Colorado early Friday.

Denver and the Front Range may see a few flurries, but otherwise just chilly temperatures, while the San Juan Mountains will have a chance for light snow overnight and Friday.

Temperatures will fall to the teens and lower 20s overnight and will stay chilly on Friday with highs in the 40s on the plains and 30s in the mountains.

Friday will be a dry day in Denver and across northeastern Colorado mostly sunny skies.

Mild and dry weather is expected for Saturday with highs in the upper 50s in the Denver area.

Sunday will be a little cooler with a few flurries for the mountains. Monday will be dry and milder again, followed by a cold front that will bring some snow to the mountains on Tuesday.

Denver and the northeast plains will have colder weather Tuesday night and Wednesday with a chance for light snow.
