Colder with a chance for rain and snow

DENVER — Colder temperatures, rain and snow are on the way for much of Colorado.

Tonight, skies will be cloudy across the metro-area, with lows in the upper 20s and low 30s. Some light drizzle or freezing drizzle will develop over the eastern plains late. In the mountains, light rain and snow showers will develop.

Friday will be cool and wet with 2-4 inches of snow in the mountains and a rain/snow mix across the Denver Metro. Highs will be in the 30s in the mountains and in Denver. The far eastern plains will also received 2-4 inches of wet, slushy snow on Friday.

By Saturday, skies will return to partly cloudy with highs in the low 50s Denver. It's looking nice for skiing with temperatures in the 40s under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday and Monday will be partly cloudy in the Denver area with highs in the 50s.

Some showers and thunderstorms will develop across the state on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs n the 40s in the mountains and 50s to low 60s in the Denver area.

Colder weather will return next Thursday with a chance for snow.
