DENVER — The early fall is typically one of the most pleasant times of the year in Colorado. The year 2020 may be having plenty of things to worry about, but right now - our weather is not one of them!

The smoke is much less thick across Colorado, with the exception of the areas downwind from the Cameron Peak Fire. Most of the state is enjoying the typical brilliant blue skies, with just a few areas reporting smoke. The only concern is the dry conditions - be careful as fire danger remains high.

Skies will stay mostly clear for the next 5-7 days as a very dry and quiet weather pattern has developed over the Rocky Mountain region. Nighttime lows will dip to the middle 20s to low 30s in the mountains and upper 30s to mid-40s for lower elevations.

A weak cold front will usher in some slightly cooler air for Wednesday and Thursday, but it will be a dry system. Temperatures will drop just a bit to the upper 60s to low 70s.

Temperatures will stay in the 70s with sunshine through this weekend. In the mountains, expect highs in the 60s with plenty of beautiful aspen gold to be enjoyed!

Highs will return to the low 80s for the Denver area early next week.
