Cooler air moved into Colorado as a weak cold front slipped through the state. The cool air-mass kept afternoon temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s in Denver and across the eastern plains.
Skies will be clear and it will be comfortably cool overnight with lows in the 40s in the mountains and the low to mid-50s for Denver and northeastern Colorado.
Highs on Friday will be in the mid 80s for Denver with only a slight chance for thunderstorms.
Over the weekend, warm weather will continue for Colorado, although just a few degrees warmer than average for early August.
Saturday will be mainly dry statewide with a better chance for storms on Sunday.
Warm weather with isolated thunderstorms can be expected to continue for Monday.
Hot and dry weather is expected again for the middle of next week.
