DENVER —Hazy and smoky conditions persist across Colorado for Thursday. Highs reached the low 90s with calm winds. Scattered showers have been affecting western Colorado for the most part~ not the eastern half of the state. In the mountains, highs were in the 70s to low 80s and temperatures in Grand Junction should be around 100 degrees.

There is a good chance for afternoon storms in Denver and across the plains tomorrow. It looks like your Friday commute home could be wet in spots.  It will also be a bit cooler on Friday, with highs in the mid- to upper 80s. Some of the storms that do show up could dump a lot of water in a short period of time.

In the mountains, temperatures will be in the upper 70s to mid 80s through the weekend with some widely scattered afternoon thunderstorms.

Fire danger will remain high across the state as the hotter weather returns.  Temperatures will climb back into the 90s this weekend, with a 20% chance of storms in Denver on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
