Despite mostly sunny skies on Wednesday, temperatures stayed a bit on the cool side in Denver. Afternoon readings reached the low 70s, pleasant enough, but nearly ten degrees below normal for the middle of June.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with lows in the 30s in the mountains and upper 40s to middle 50s across the plains.
Temperatures will warm back into the 80s in the Denver area on Thursday, with 90s over the Southeast Plains and the Western Valleys. In the mountains, highs will be in the 60s to low 70s. . There may be a few gusty afternoon thunderstorms, but little rain is expected.
A cold front will begin the move across Colorado on Friday. Thunderstorms will be likely in the mountains with highs in the 60s. Denver and the plains will have sunshine in the morning and about a 30% chance for thunderstorms later in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 70s to mid-80s.
Unfortunately, there will be a better chance for showers and thunderstorms over the weekend, with some severe storms possible. Temperatures will be a little cooler, with highs in the 70s for the Denver area. The threat for tornadoes will not be high, but frequent lightning and locally heavy ran will be possible. Get your outdoor fun done by noon as the afternoons will be stormy!
