DENVER — The weather has been delightful across Colorado with mild temperatures and scattered clouds. Early Wednesday will be quite mild as we close out March as lows will be in the 20s in the mountains and 30s to middle 40s for the Denver area and the eastern plains.

Clouds will increase Wednesday afternoon, but temperatures will stay mild — in the mid to upper 60s for Denver and the eastern plains and in the 40s to low 50s in the mountains. Wind will be gusty from the southwest and a few scattered showers will develop in the afternoon - maybe even a little thunder near the Kansas border.

A new storm system will impact Colorado Thursday with rain and snow in the mountains and showers in Denver by the afternoon. Temperatures will be colder with 40s for Denver and the eastern plains and 30s in the mountains. The mountains can expect 3 to 6 inches of snow Thursday and Thursday night.

Friday will be colder with a few inches of snow for Denver and the I-25 corridor. Highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s for Denver and the northeast plains and in the 30s in the mountains.

Showers will end across the state early Saturday with drier and warmer weather returning for Sunday and Monday.
