DENVER — Summer is drawing to a close, but the beginning of Autumn on Tuesday will not feature much of a change in the weather.

A Denver7 Weather Action Day is in effect for hazy, smoky conditions. An Air Quality Alert covers all of the I-25 corridor and much of eastern Colorado for smoke and high ozone levels. People with respiratory issues should try to avoid extended time outdoors and stay in an air conditioned area if possible.

Tuesday, Fall officially begins in the northern hemisphere, but our temperatures will stay above normal all week long. Expect low to upper 80s through Thursday, with the chance for a high of 90 degrees on Friday afternoon.

Scattered storms and showers will likely develop in the mountains Tuesday afternoon. There will be a slight chance for a few storms and showers across the Denver metro area on, but unfortunately - only light rain is expected along with locally gusty winds and some lightning. Otherwise, a dry weather pattern is expected to continue.

By the weekend, a weak cold front will move through Colorado and bring temperatures back to near seasonal averages, with mid-to upper 70s expected. The front will not bring much moisture, so the overall dry pattern will continue. The warm and dry weather pattern means we still have to be extremely careful when it comes to fire danger.
