Gusty winds and scattered clouds were the rule across Colorado Monday afternoon, only a couple of brief thunderstorms popped up in the southern mountains, otherwise it was a dry day. Winds were gusty - up to 20-30 mph at times.

Skies will be partly cloudy early Tuesday with lighter winds expected. Lows will drop in the upper 40s to mid-50s for Denver and the eastern plains with middle 30s to low 40s in the mountains.
A weak cold front will slide across Colorado early in the day. This front will bring little precipitation, but will keep temperatures running just a little cooler than average in for early June. Highs will be in the middle 70s in Denver and across the northeast plains, with low 80s in southeastern Colorado. Winds will be gusty from the northwest at 15 to 30 mph.
Isolated showers may develop over northeastern Colorado and western Nebraska during the afternoon, the severe weather threat will remain low. Denver should stay dry under a partly cloudy sky.
Wednesday will stay a little on the cool side again, with morning lows in the upper 40s in Denver. Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid-70s. In the mountains, highs will be in the 60s, with 80s in the western valleys.
By Thursday and Friday, temperatures will pop back into the 80s in the Denver area. There may be a few afternoon thunderstorms on Thursday, with a better chance on Friday. In the mountains, highs will be in the 60s to low 70s.
As temperatures climb, we'll see snow rapid snow melt in the mountains. A number of flood watches and warnings are in effect for the mountains especially across southern Colorado.
Unfortunately, there will be a better chance for showers and thunderstorms over the weekend, with some severe storms possible.
