DENVER — Fall like weather arrives for the beginning of the week - thanks to a cold front.

Air quality will be better than we've seen, but fire danger remains elevated Near Grand Junction and over the northwestern corner of Colorado, a Red Flag Warning is also in effect until 8 p.m. Monday there for low relative humidity and gusty winds.

There will be a good chance for scattered thunderstorms and showers over higher terrain again on Sunday. Winds will be gusty at times and pockets of moderate to heavy rainfall can be expected with stronger storms that form.

Cooler air will arrive on Monday, with highs expected to be just in the middle to upper 70s in Denver — Rain showers will be likely come Monday night, and even a touch of light snow for the higher peaks of our northern and central mountains, mainly about 12,000 feet.

Clearing skies and pleasant temperatures can be expected by Tuesday, with highs in the low 80s. Mainly dry days, with highs in the 80s for the rest of the week.
