More storms across Colorado with a warm weekend ahead

DENVER — Skies will become partly cloudy early Friday with lows in the low 60s in the Denver area and across eastern Colorado. In the mountains, lows will be in the mid-40s to low 50s.

Friday will be a little hotter and drier, with fewer thunderstorms expected - although there will still be some scattered across the mountains and the I-25 Corridor. Highs will be in the 90s over eastern Colorado with upper 70s to middle 80s in the mountains.

More thunderstorms and slightly cooler weather can be expected for Saturday and Sunday. Highs will drop back to the mid-to upper 80s in the Denver area. In the mountains, afternoon storms will be likely with highs in the middle 70s to low 80s. One caveat, temperatures in the mountains will briefly drop into the 50s during thunderstorms and watch out for lightning!

Hotter and drier weather will return early next week with highs back into the low to mid-90s for Denver and the eastern plains.
