A nice warm up, then colds!

DENVER — Scattered snow showers have ended but roads could be a bit slick overnight. It will be cold with lows in the teens to low 20s in the Denver area and zero to 10 above in the mountains.

Mild weather arrives for Friday, and sunshine will boost highs into the low to mid 50s around the Denver area and across eastern Colorado. The mountains will have sunshine with highs in the 30s.

This weekend will be nice and will feel a lot like spring. Highs are expected to reach the 60s under a sunny sky Saturday and some high clouds for Sunday. Temperatures on Sunday will climb to the upper 60s in Denver and low 70s over southeastern Colorado.

A big change will come Sunday night as a powerful cold front slices through Colorado. Expect much colder weather with snow on Monday. Temperatures will tumble Monday and Tuesday with highs only in the 20s to lower 30s. Tuesday morning will see lows in the single digits in Denver - a 60 degree drop from Sunday afternoon.

Snowfall amounts will probably be in the 3 to 6 inch range in the Denver area - the heaviest since late November! In the mountains, moderate to heavy snow will be likely for several days next week.
