DENVER — Light snow and cold temperatures will create some slippery road conditions tonight and early Tuesday. This is not a major storm, but an inch or two of snow will be possible in Denver and across the northeast plains through tonight.
In the high country, the southwest mountains have been be impacted with the heaviest snow and highest accumulations. A Winter Storm Warning has been in effect for the San Juan Mountains, including Telluride and Lake City. Good news for those folks, as the drought conditions are the worst in the western and southern parts of Colorado.

The main snow event will end by early Tuesday for the Denver metro area and by mid-morning for the northeast corner of the state. Light snow showers are expected through Tuesday for the northern and central mountains, but accumulations will be minor. Lows will be in the single digits and teens in the mountains and upper teens to low 20s for Denver and the northeast plains.
On Tuesday, skies gradually clear, but temperatures stay cool. Highs will be just in the 40s for in the Denver area. In the mountains, highs will stay in the 20s to near 30 degrees.
The cooler weather pattern will remain for most of the week, with highs in the 40s Wednesday and in the low to mid 50s Thursday through Sunday. Some light snow showers may return to the mountains Thursday and Friday, but lower elevations will just see an increase in clouds.
Next week looks like it will be warmer again with highs bouncing back to the upper 50s to middle 60s!
