DENVER -- We're in for a hot weekend across Colorado. Temperatures rose to the mid-90s Saturday. Scattered late-day showers and storms will move east, out of the state, tonight. Skies gradually clear by early Sunday morning.
Overnight lows will be in the 60s in Denver. Expect dry, mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions to start Sunday. Highs will stay very warm tomorrow, in the low 90s.
A cold front is set to move through tomorrow, bringing a good chance for rain Sunday PM in Denver. We have issued a First Alert Action Day for Sunday because some of those storms could be heavy and/or strong, especially over northeastern Colorado.
That cold front will also bring cooler air to start next week~highs in the 80s...with rainy weather. We'll stay in the 80s most of next week with chances for rain each day.
So far, we've seen 37 days with temperatures either at or above 90 degrees this summer. Around 85% of our state is experiencing drought conditions. We could definitely benefit from the rain that's on the way!
