DENVER — Welcome to June and our typical Colorado warm season weather pattern! Morning sun, midday clouds building, scattered afternoon and evening storms, overnight clearing!

Temperatures climbed to the low 90s in Denver this afternoon as clouds and widely scattered thunderstorms developed. The severe weather threat is low, but gusty winds, lightning and brief heavy rainfall will be possible through early tonight, followed by a mild, quiet night and early morning.

Lows will be in the middle 50s to low 60s for lower elevations with 40s to low 50s in the mountains.

Tuesday will start with sunshine, give way to midday increasing clouds and widely scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Highs will be back in the upper 80s to low 90s for lower elevations and 70s to low 80s in the mountains. Elevations above 11,000 feet will be in the 60s, but can quickly drop to the mid-to upper 40s during a thunderstorm - plan ahead if hiking or camping.

There will be little change for the next several days with a chance for storms each afternoon, with most of the activity in the mountains. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s to low 90s all week long. Stay cool!

Hotter and drier weather will arrive over the weekend, with highs in the 90s for the Denver and close to 100 degrees over southeastern Colorado.
