DENVER — Very warm, hazy conditions for the Front Range with poor air quality. We have issued a Denver7 Action Day through Monday night for these smoky conditions.
There is plenty of smoke and haze in the skies across Colorado, courtesy of the two large wildfires — the Grizzly Creek Fire and Pine Gulch Fire — in the western part of the state, as well as the Cameron Peak Fire in Larimer County.
Fire danger remains high, especially across the Western Slope where relative humidity is below 15% and winds are gusting over 30 mph. With highs in the upper 90s, there is no relief for firefighters.
Not much relief from the heat this Monday. Expect highs in the mid to upper 90s over the metro-area. There will be a slight chance for scattered late-day thunderstorms over the plains Monday and Tuesday.
Highs will stay in the 90s through Friday of next week.
