DENVER — Skies will be partly cloudy tonight in Denver with lows in the middle 50s by morning.
More thunderstorms are likely on Wednesday as a cold front slips across Colorado. Highs will be in the low 80s for Denver and 60s to low 70s in the high country. The warmest weather will be in southeastern Colorado where highs will reach the mid-90s ahead of the cold front.
Some severe thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday afternoon across the northeast corner of Colorado, western Kansas and Nebraska. Higher humidity in these areas will combine with the approaching cold front to provide more energy for strong storms.
Behind the cold front, gusty northwest winds will bring a "taste of Fall" to much of Colorado Wednesday night and Thursday. Temperatures will dip down into the upper 40s Thursday morning in Denver, with highs staying in the 70s! In the mountains, a little snow may dust the northern peaks Wednesday night with lows in the low 30s!
A warming trend will return Friday through the weekend with highs back into the 80s under mostly sunny skies.
Leaves are beginning to change in the mountains and it will not be long before the aspen trees begin to really glow in the high country! Here's where to go to see the beautiful fall foliage.
