A strong storm system is hammering the northern and central mountains! Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the mountains along and north of I-70 through Friday for 1 to 3 feet of new snow! Along with the snow, strong winds are making travel difficult to impossible in the high country.
The storm will also impact Denver and northeastern Colorado with snow tonight and Friday. The snow will continue through Friday, with 1 to 2 inches across the Denver metro area by Friday morning and additional 2 to 4 inches by Friday night.
Temperatures tonight will be in the 20s for lower elevations and teens in the mountains. Strong winds in the mountains will make it feel much colder. On Friday, readings will stay in the 20s in the mountains with low to mid-30s for Denver and the eastern plains.
Skies will clear on Saturday as the storm moves east of Colorado. Highs should return to the 40s on Saturday for the plains, with low 30s in the mountains.
