DENVER — A series of cold fronts will move from the Pacific across the central Rockies this weekend.
The fast paced flow of fronts that will race across the region tend to favor the mountains with snow, but leave Denver and the eastern plains with gusty winds, colder temperatures and just a little moisture.
A Blizzard Warning is in effect for the eastern plains from 11pm Saturday until Sunday morning for 1"-4" of snow along with high winds.
A High Wind Warning is in effect for the majority of eastern Colorado (including Denver) until 6 a.m. Sunday. Peak winds will be sustained at 35-45 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph. Downed trees, power lines, and damage to property are a possibility.

The weekend will feature some really great skiing thanks to the addition of eight to 16 inches of fresh powder from late Thursday and continuing through Saturday. Be advised that the roads will be snow-covered and slippery in the mountains, especially on Saturday. Avalanche danger is also elevated in the high country. Gusty winds and blowing snow may limit visibility at times.
Skies will clear on Sunday, but temperatures will remain chilly — in the middle 30s to low 40s on the plains and 30s in the mountains. Bundle up for the Broncos game or any other outdoors activities.
More snow will be likely next week as the weather pattern remains active over the western United States. By the middle to end of next week a series of storms will bring more snow to the mountains and possibly to the Denver area.
