DENVER — Warm and dry weather covered Colorado again today. Skies were sunny with highs in the upper 70s (only 5 degrees away from a record afternoon high).
The weather will stay mild and pleasant for Monday with highs in the 70s for Denver and in the 50s to near 60 in the mountains. Winds pick up and clouds increase Monday night ahead of our next storm system.
The forecast is for colder and wetter weather to arrive Tuesday and for Halloween. A stronger cold front will push across Colorado on Tuesday with rain showers changing to light snow for Denver and the northeast plains. Temperatures will start out around 50 degrees in the morning, but fall to the middle 30s by late afternoon.
In the mountains, 3 to 6 inches of snow will be possible Tuesday and again on Wednesday. Snow will be lighter Tuesday night and Wednesday for the Denver area, but 1 to 3 inches certainly seems possible.
Halloween will be cold for trick-or-treaters! A chance for some flurries and temperatures in the low 30s in the late afternoon and early evening.
