DENVER — Scattered thunderstorms can be expected through early tonight, especially along the I-25 Corridor.

The risk of severe weather will be low, but we could see some pockets of heavy rain and plenty of lightning.

The skies will clear overnight as some drier air begins to move into Colorado from the west. Expect a little lesser chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Slightly cooler air will move into Colorado on Thursday as a weak cold front slips across the state. Skies will be partly cloudy, but the cooler and drier air will not produce much in the way of showers or thunderstorms.

Highs will be in the low to mid-80s on Thursday and return to the upper 80s on Friday.

Over the weekend, hotter conditions will return to Colorado, although the heat will not be extreme - just a few degrees warmer than average for early August.
