DENVER — Temperatures will be chilly tonight, with lows in the single digits and teens in the mountains and low to mid-20s for lower elevations and the Denver metro area.

We are in for a pretty big 24-hour change — with a strong westerly wind on Wednesday. For Denver and the I-25 Corridor, expect highs in the mid-to upper 50s - about 20 degrees warmer than Tuesday.

Plenty of sunshine is expected, but strong winds are expected in the mountains and foothills. A High Wind Warning is posted for Wednesday late morning through early evening for gusts of 50-75 mph for areas above 7,000 feet along and west of I-25.

Thursday will be dry, but clouds will increase again ahead of the next storm system. Highs will be in the 30s in the mountains and 40s to low 50s on the plains.

Light snow will develop from west to east on Friday and light snow is expected over the weekend along with colder temperatures.
