Tonight in the mountains, an additional few inches of snow, along with blowing snow and an icy drive over the higher passes is expected.

Overnight across the metro-area, winds stay strong and lows drop to the upper teens by morning. Tuesday, winds will again be very strong, with highs will only be in the upper 20s. Light snow is possible tomorrow afternoon and early evening over the plains.

The strong winds will create blowing snow and areas of blowing dust across the eastern plains. Gusts to 60 mph will create hazardous driving conditions, especially along east-west routes that will have strong crosswinds. Blowing snow will reduce visibility to around zero at times.

Winds will diminish and skies will be clear by early Wednesday. Lows will be very cold, dropping to the single digits to around 10 degrees in Denver. Mountain temperatures will be zero to 20 below early Wednesday morning.

Wednesday looks calmer and mostly sunny, with highs returning to the low 40s.

Milder and dry weather is expected to round out the week. Highs will reach around 50 degrees on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures expected to rise to near 60 degrees this coming weekend!
