More snow heading for Colorado!

After a bitter cold start, with a morning low of 5 below zero in Denver, temperatures climbed back to near freezing under sunny skies. Tonight will be chilly, but nearly as cold with lows in the single digits and teens under partly cloudy skies.

A strong storm system will move into the northern and central mountains on Thursday. Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the mountains along and north of I-70 through Friday for 1 to 3 FEET of new snow! Along with the snow, strong winds will make travel difficult in the high country.

Clouds will increase in Denver and across northeastern Colorado Thursday, with snow developing late in the day. The snow will continue early Friday with 2 to 4 inches possible for northeastern Colorado and 1 to 3 inches for the Denver area.

Highs should return to the 40s on Saturday for the plains, with 20s in the mountains under a partly cloudy sky.

More snow will hit the high country starting Sunday with a chance for snow in Denver Sunday afternoon and early Monday.

Tuesday will be drier, but more snow and cold will arrive for next Wednesday.
