Temperatures staying a little cool for June

It was a pleasant Tuesday across Colorado. Highs reached the mid to upper 70s on the Plains, with mainly 60s in the Mountains and 80s across the Western Slope.

Isolated showers developed over northeastern Colorado and western Nebraska, as a weak cold front slipped through the area. Denver should stay dry under a partly to mostly cloudy sky tonight. Lows will be in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Wednesday will stay a little on the cool side again, with morning clouds in Denver and across the plains. Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 70s under a mostly sunny sky. In the mountains, highs will be in the 60s, with 80s in the western valleys.

By Thursday and Friday, temperatures will warm back into the 80s in the Denver area. There may be a few afternoon thunderstorms on Thursday, with a better chance on Friday. In the mountains, highs will be in the 60s to low 70s.

As temperatures climb, we'll see snow rapid snow melt in the mountains. A number of flood watches and warnings are in effect for the mountains especially across southern Colorado.

Unfortunately, there will be a better chance for showers and thunderstorms over the weekend, with some severe storms possible. Temperatures will be a little cooler, with highs in the 70s for the Denver area.
