DENVER — Denver broke the record low temperature for October 27th, falling to 8 degrees at DIA. The record was 11 above zero, set back in 1925. The average low temperature at this time of year is 33 degrees and the average high is 61 degrees.

Temperatures were slow to recover today, just reaching the upper 30s to low 40s under a sunny sky.

Tonight, skies stay clear and lows will again drop below freezing, in the upper teens to low 20s. Be careful on icy sidewalks, side streets, bridges and areas that are prone to re-freeze overnight.

Expect a gradual warm-up, with highs in the low 50s in Denver Wednesday, then sunny and milder days through Saturday, with highs near 60 on Thursday, low 60s for Friday and Halloween.

Warmer weather will arrive early next week with highs reaching the upper 60s to low 70s. Election Day weather will be mild and dry.
