DENVER — The weather warmed to the middle 60s this afternoon in Denver and across eastern Colorado, but a cold front will bring a change tonight with rain developing and changing to snow by early Tuesday.
This cold front is set to roll in this evening, bringing snow to the mountains and rain, then snow over the Denver metro area.
Colder weather and snow will be on tap Tuesday morning, with around 1-3 inches of accumulation possible. Some slick and slushy roads will be possible for the morning commute.
In the majority of our central mountains, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 11 AM Tuesday. Expect snow, heavy at times, through early Tuesday. Around 4-8" of accumulation will be possible across the I-70 corridor. In the foothills and southern suburbs, 3-6" can be expected through midday Tuesday.
The heaviest snow will occur over portions of southwestern Colorado, across the San Juan mountains, where 1-2 feet of accumulating snow can be expected over higher elevations.
Skies gradually clear by late Tuesday afternoon and highs will rebound to the upper 30s to low 40s for the Front Range.
Sunny and warmer weather returns on Wednesday, with highs in the 50s.
On Thanksgiving, expect partly cloudy skies during the afternoon and highs in the low 40s in Denver. We have a chance for light snow into the evening hours. Overnight lows will stay cold, but seasonal, in the 20s all week.
