DENVER — Fall-like weather came to Colorado behind a cold front. After highs climbed back into the low 90s on Sunday, a push of cooler air from the northern Rockies brought readings down to the upper 70s to low 80s Monday afternoon.

Scattered showers can be expected through early Tuesday, with a touch of light snow for the higher peaks of our northern and central mountains, mainly above about 11,000 feet.

Lows cool to the low 50s in Denver and skies clear early Tuesday. Sunshine and pleasant temperatures can be expected, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

It will be hotter on Wednesday, with highs around 90 degrees. Thursday and Friday will be in the 80s, followed by a hot day on Saturday with highs in the middle 90s.

Expect mainly dry days for the rest of the week, with mainly clear skies and little chance for rain. Temperatures will bounce around a bit as a couple of minor cold fronts slide across the region.

Denver has recorded 68 days of 90 degrees or hotter this summer. The tally is creeping closer to the all-time record mark of 73 days, set in 2012.

Sunday and Labor Day will be cooler again with highs back in the upper 70s to low 80s. Little rain is expected over the next 7 days.
