DENVER — Dry and hot weather for us on Sunday as winds will be blowing strong from the southwest. The heat, wind and drier air has increased our fire danger over much of the state. A FIRE WEATHER WARNING will be in effect for most of eastern Colorado on Sunday as temperatures reach the 90s to near 100 on the plains and humidity levels will drop to 10 to 15 percent.
Across the Denver area, highs were mostly in the low 90s. Skies will stay mostly clear through tonight and lows drop to the low 50s.
A cold front will arrive Sunday night and bring breezy and cooler weather for early next week. We will see rain showing up late Monday night- meanwhile, there's a possibility of accumulating snow in the high country Monday and Tuesday. The northern mountains will be chilly with lows in the low to mid-30s and highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Enjoy the cool weather while it's here- temps will be back to 90+ degrees by the end of the week.
