DENVER — A First Alert Action Day has been issued ahead of a storm that will hit Colorado tonight and Thursday.
Today will be the last warm day before this storm rolls through. We'll see highs in the low to mid 60s this afternoon under a mostly sunny sky. A few spotty showers are possible late today and rain is likely tonight.
Rain will switch over to snow on Thursday, which is the first day of spring. We will see highs in the 40s on Thursday, but it will get colder throughout the day. Thursday's storm will bring some slushy snow to the Front Range. We could see around 3 to 6 inches of snow by early Friday morning, along with gusty northerly winds. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Denver and the Front Range for Thursday.
There will be heavier snow and blizzard conditions north of Colorado across southern Wyoming. Mostly cloudy and breezy on Friday, with highs only in the 30s. It will be one of the coldest days of the month.
