DENVER — Some scattered snow showers will end in the mountains tonight and early Thursday, followed by another round of wind and snow Thursday night and Friday.
This next storm will not be a major one, but should freshen up the ski areas with about 3-6 inches of snow north of I-70 and 1-3 inches farther to the south. Denver and the eastern plains will probably see an inch or less Thursday night and Friday.
Prior to that storm, skies will be mostly clear tonight with lows in the teens to low 20s for Denver and the I-25 Corridor. Single digits and teens can be expected in the mountains.
Clouds will increase on Thursday with snow showers developing in the mountains during the afternoon. For the eastern plains, clouds will thicken during the day, highs will be in the upper 30s to mid-40s.
Thursday night and Friday will be windy and colder with the light snowfall. Highs will be in the 20s in the mountains and Friday and 30s on the plains.
This will be a quick moving storm though- it will clear completely for the Bronco game on Saturday.
Temperatures for kickoff will be in the mid 40s with sunshine at Empower Field.
Sunday highs will be near 50 degrees with sunny skies. Monday and Tuesday will stay mild, followed by colder weather and a chance for snow on Wednesday.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day should be dry and cold.
