DENVER — A snowstorm impacting Denver is pushing through Colorado as winter weather advisories and a winter storm warning remain in effect for portions of the metro and eastern plains. Heavier snow is expected to continue through Wednesday morning.
The Denver metro is under a winter weather advisory until 11 p.m., as an additional 2 to 8 inches of snow is possible, mainly south of I-76, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Boulder. The heaviest snow is expected to fall along the Palmer Divide.

5:56 p.m. | Highway 58 shut down in Golden | A crash involving two Golden police officers has shut down Highway 58 at Washington Avenue. The conditions of the officers are not known at this time. Read more through this link.
1:27 p.m. | Clear Creek County alert | The Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office said eastbound semi trucks coming down from the Eisenhower Tunnel need to keep their chains on until mile marker 259 in Golden. The trucks stopping to re-chain up before Floyd Hill are blocking traffic, causing a hazard for other motorists, the sheriff's office said.
11:50 a.m. | New I-70 closure | Eastbound I-70 is closed between E-470 and US 24 due to weather conditions.
10:30 a.m. | I-70 closure update | I-70 westbound has reopened between C-470 and Morrison Road.

7:59 a.m. | Snow in Castle Rock | The Town of Castle Rock has accumulated 8 inches on the roads. Castle Rock leaders are sending trucks with plows to residential streets to clear streets.

A Colorado State Patrol trooper was hit on Highway 36 near McClaslin Boulevard, Boulder police said. The trooper had stopped to help another driver around 6:06 a.m. Wednesday when another car ran into his patrol vehicle with him inside. He had to be extracted from his car and taken to the hospital as a precaution, Boulder police said. There are no injuries reported, as of 7:44 a.m.
