Live Colorado traffic updates as snow creeps into the Denver metro area

7:15 p.m.: Westbound I-70 at Morrison Road is now back open, CDOT officials say. Westbound C-470 is opening on I-70 from Alameda, but westbound ramp to US 6 remains closed. 

5:42 p.m.: WB C-470 at Alameda is still closed for crash clean-up. 

5:37 p.m.: Westbound I-70 at Morrison Road is still closed, CDOT officials say. No estimated time for the reopening of the highway. 

5:16 p.m.: The City of Thornton is now on accident alert. 

4:51 p.m.: Westbound W. 6th Avenue is "very hazardous" according to Lakewood Police. Officers urge people in the area to drive slowly and watch for police and other first responders. 

4:42 p.m.: C-470 EB from US 6 has one lane now open, but the westbound C-470 ramp to US 6 remains closed. There is no estimated time of opening. Clean up has begun. 

4:10 p.m.: Jefferson County is now on accident alert, meaning officials ask that you do not call to report a car crash unless you have been injured. Officials also ask that you exchange information with the driver and report the crash at a later time. 

3:55 p.m. A multi-car accident is being reported on WB C-470 between Alameda and 6th Avenue. There are multiple injuries, road closures in the area. 

3:51 p.m.: The Colorado State Patrol is asking drivers to avoid the area of I-70 and Highway 470 due to bad weather, multiple crashes. 

3:46 p.m.: C-470 northbound is now shut down at Alameda, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says.  

3:39 p.m.: The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is alerting drivers to avoid the area of 6th Avenue and the C-470 interchange due to a multi-car accident because of snowy roads. 

3:37 p.m.: WB I-70 is closed at MM 259 (Morrison Rd) due to multi-vehicle crash. CDOT officials say weather has moved in quickly and is causing poor visibility out west towards Golden. No estimated time for the reopening of the highway. Expect extensive delays and slower speeds. 

3:31 p.m.: Lakewood Police are advising drivers to avoid the area of W. 20th Avenue and Simms up to W. 26th Avenue. No traffic is moving, police say.
