SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. – Interstate 70 was closed both directions at the Eisenhower Tunnel for nearly six hours after a semi carrying pipes rolled over just east of Silverthorne Wednesday afternoon, according to Colorado Department of Transportation officials.
CDOT officials said the crash, which involved multiple vehicles, sent debris over the highway, forcing its closure and creating a traffic backup visible from the department's cameras. Colorado State Patrol officials called it a "large incident."
It’s unclear how many vehicles were involved at this time. No injuries have been reported.

CSP Eagle officials advised travelers to use Highway 6 over Loveland Pass as an alternate route.
The eastbound lanes of the highway were back open just before 6:30 p.m. The westbound lanes were back open by 9:37 p.m.
