Heading to Denver International Airport this weekend? Don't take the A Line

Posted

DENVER – If you’re traveling by air this weekend, it will be best to find another way to get to the airport if you were planning on taking the “Train to the Plane.”

That’s because RTD officials said Wednesday that service on the University of Colorado A line will be disrupted for 48 hours due to construction work on the Central Park Boulevard bridge.

The A Line will be non-functioning from 3 a.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Monday, officials said in a press release, adding that bus shuttles will serve passengers in place of the A Line commuter rail.

Officials ask that travelers plan for an additional hour of travel time between Union Station and the Denver International Airport terminal as construction work gets underway.

If you a buddy isn’t able to help you out by driving you to DIA and if Uber or Lyft aren't an option for you, RTD officials provided the following schedule for operating buses during the A Line service disruption:

Saturday:

Buses will be leaving Union Station between 3:15 a.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday every 15 minutes on the quarter hour. So: 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, etc.

Buses will be leaving DIA between 4:12 a.m. Saturday and 1:57 a.m. Sunday every 15 minutes after the hour, for example: 4:12, 4:27, 4:42, and 4:57.

Sunday:

Buses will be leaving Union Station between 3:15 a.m. Sunday and 12:30 a.m. Monday every 15 minutes on the quarter hour. So: 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, etc.

Buses will be leaving DIA between 4:12 a.m. Sunday and 1:57 a.m. Monday every 15 minutes after the hour, for example: 4:12, 4:27, 4:42, and 4:57.

Gate assignments are as follows:

  • Union Station / B5
  • 38th & Blake Station / eastbound: east side of Blake near the platform; westbound, west side of Blake near the platform
  • 40th & Colorado Station / B
  • Central Park Station / B3
