Driving You Crazy: Why are the metering lights southbound Parker Rd on to I-225 turned off?

Seems like it contributes to the traffic slowdown

Julie from Centennial writes, “What is driving you crazy? Why are the metering lights southbound Parker Rd on to I-225 turned off?  I may be driving southbound too early/late and missing when they are on but it seems like it contributes to the traffic slowdown.

Julie, complaints are common about the metro area metering lights. They are a good tool that CDOT uses to help traffic flow better on the freeways. When I contacted CDOT about the lights on the ramp they told me, “the ramp meter at this location was not communicating properly, but our crews repaired the ramp meter today (Feb. 16). The meter should be working during peak hours as well as other times as-needed.”

There you go. I hope the newly operational lights will help traffic flow better on 225 and not make Parker Road traffic worse than it already is.
