Stephanie joined the Denver7 team as a digital producer in June 2018, became the senior digital producer in February 2023 and stepped into the role of executive digital producer in December 2023.
She went to Elon University (N.C.), graduating with honors in 2014 with a degree in print/online journalism and creative writing. Afterward, she spent four years working for a newspaper in High Point, North Carolina, where she reported on a myriad of topics, designed pages, created graphics and led the online and social media charge. She earned multiple awards from the North Carolina Press Association and The Associated Press for her writing and photography. Small newspapers will always have a special place in her heart.
Her interest in online journalism brought her to Denver7 in June 2018.
She loves reporting in-depth on environmental stories, especially those involving outdoor recreation, the wolf reintroduction, athletic backcountry endeavors, wildfire recovery and natural disasters, among others.
As such, it's no surprise that she loves living in an area where mountains are close by. Her weekends are filled with long trail runs, hikes and backpacking, dog walks and other outdoorsy (and offline) adventures. Is there anything better than sunrise on a mountain top? And on wintry weekends, she's... usually dreaming of summer. But hopefully snowshoeing, or something, in the meantime.
