Thunder, the Denver Broncos' mascot, is finally in California, after getting stuck in a winter storm on Interstate 80 in Wyoming.
Thunder's driver was near Rock Springs on Sunday night when the Wyoming Highway Patrol closed the highway because of ice and snow.
Thunder ended up at the Mountainaire Animal Clinic in Rock Springs.
Office manager Deniece Tanner told Denver7 it didn't long for word to spread from Broncos fan to Broncos fan around town.
Tanner said everyone was calling and asking, "Can we come out and take pictures with him?"
She tried to say no, but a few people came anyway.
Thunder stayed Sunday and Monday night.
"It was quite an honor," Tanner said, but she admitted is also created anxiety to make sure Thunder was safe.
Even Tanner, a self-admitted prankster, said it was tempting to put another team's logo on the trailer or something else.
Tanner said they put Thunder in a stall with a security camera, just to make sure no one else got any ideas.
Tuesday morning, Thunder was loaded back up.
"I was melancholy to see him leave," Tanner said. "It was bittersweet."
"To have something so famous, and on the way to the Super Bowl, spend two nights with us, I wish we could’ve shared it with the community more," Tanner said.
