BOULDER, Colo. -- New BolderBOULDER runners may have some anxiety on what they should eat the morning of a race.
BolderBOULDER co-founder and Olympic Gold Medalist Frank Shorter says a good rule of thumb is to eat a well balance light meal three hours before you run. This could be something like a cup of coffee, toast, oatmeal with some peanut butter, a glass of orange juice and a banana, or a Clif Bar.
Staying hydrated is always important. You shouldn’t skimp on water the days leading up to a race.
Frank also says the night before you race make sure you keep it normal. Eat a meal slightly higher in carbs but one you know your body will tolerate well.
