The English Premier League has been suspended indefinitely following a meeting of the 20 clubs where a series of financial measures were discussed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The league had given a tentative return date of April 30 but it says the season "will only return when it is safe and appropriate to do so."
Teams still have nine or 10 games to play. The league has voted to advance funds of $150 million to lower-league clubs.
Its clubs also have agreed to consult players over a salary deduction or deferral of 30%.
