DENVER — Colorado sports fans will finally catch a break, despite the ongoing dispute between the Altitude Sports network and major carriers Comcast and DISH Network.

National broadcasts of Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche first-round playoff games won't be blacked out, Altitude officials clarified Tuesday.

Altitude has not been available on Comcast and DISH this season amid the dispute. Altitude on Tuesday said it waived its exclusive broadcast rights in Denver for the first round of the playoffs for both the Nuggets and the Avalanche.

The Avalanche plays the Arizona Coyotes in the first round of the NHL playoffs at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on NBC Sports Network. The first round of the NHL playoffs are also being broadcast nationally on the NHL Network and CNBC.

The NBA playoffs begin Aug. 17 and will be broadcast on ESPN and TNT. Times and TV information for the Nuggets have not been released yet.

Both the Nuggets and Avalanche games will still be carried by Altitude, which is currently available on DIRECTV and Charter Cable.
