Colorado State men’s basketball players had grown frustrated by a lack of communication from the athletic department through the course of an internal investigation to determine head coach Larry Eustachy’s future with the program.
So they took a stand.
The Rams boycotted a 3 p.m. Thursday practice because “they still haven’t heard from (athletic director) Joe Parker about the investigation,” according to a team source. Parker released a statement about 6 p.m. that indicated that those talks were finally taking place.
“Our student athletes have expressed concerns to us and we are working with them to address those concerns,” Parker said. “Student athlete welfare has always been our top priority. While we are obviously limited in what we can release during an assessment, we will be meeting with our men’s basketball team to update them on the situation.”
