Denver Broncos 2018 training camp starts Saturday: Here's what you need to know

Posted

DENVER – The Broncos’ 2018 training camp kicks off Saturday morning at UCHealth Training Center in Englewood. If you’re one of the thousands of fans who plan on attending one or more of the team’s practices this year, there are a few things you’ll need to know.

  • There will be 13 practices open to the public that run from 9:30 a.m. to noon on the following days: Saturday, July 28; Sunday, July 29; Monday, July 30; Tuesday, July 31; Wednesday, Aug. 1; Friday, Aug. 3 (Kids Day); Saturday, Aug. 4; Sunday, Aug. 5; Tuesday, Aug. 7; Wednesday, Aug. 8; Thursday, Aug. 9; Tuesday, Aug. 14 and Wednesday, Aug. 15.
  • The Chicago Bears will be practicing with the Broncos on Aug. 15.
  • Gates open to the public on open practice days at approximately 8 a.m. each day. Parking, which opens at 7 a.m. on open practice days, is limited and the seating area has limited shade.
  • The ever-popular Kids Day is scheduled for Aug. 3. The first 1,000 children at training camp that day will get Broncos umbrella hats; it’s Miles the Mascot’s birthday, which will feature some of his mascot friends; and there will be other kids activities as well.
  • No food and non-alcoholic beverages will be allowed inside. Outside the practice field gates, the Broncos will host a slew of Denver-area food trucks for more food options, though those meals won’t be allowed inside.
  • As usual, fans can get autographs from players after each practice near the guest seating area of the practice fields.
  • The same bag policy in effect at Mile High will be in effect for training camp, meaning each fan can bring in a clear bag no larger than 12” x 6” by 12” or a single-gallon freezer bag. Small clutches or purses are also allowed but are subject to search. More on the policy here.
  • There are a handful of things not allowed at training camp, including: umbrellas, alcohol, glass and metal containers, video cameras, long-lens cameras, iPads, lawn chairs, strollers (must be left at gate), coolers, ringing cell phones and pets. Seating pads are allowed but can’t exceed 18 inches in width.
  • Public restrooms are available for fans near the entrance to the practice fields. Lightning and inclement weather will clear fans to their vehicles.
  • The Broncos are also collecting school supplies outside of the training camp gates and are asking for backpacks, 3-ring binders, spiral notebooks, markers and crayons and monetary donations.

The full Denver7 Sports crew will be at Dove Valley this weekend to bring you the latest on the new Broncos, the fan experience and the position battles as they shape up through training camp.
