Denver Broncos standout defensive end Shelby Harris told Denver7 Friday morning he will not be to cleared to play in Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Harris was not given an explanation for why he won't be eligible. But it could be traced to needing five full days in quarantine. He went on the COVID-19 restricted list on Wednesday.
He did the right thing by reporting close contact outside building to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. It protected his teammates but cost him a game.
Harris told me he continues to feel well and test negative.
“It (bleeping) stinks,” Harris said.
Harris has been a stalwart for the Broncos this season, anchoring a defensive line that has lost Jurrell Casey and Mike Purcell to injuries.
In seven games so far this season, he has 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble and 15 solo tackles to go along with four tackles for loss and eight quarterback hits.
