DENVER -- Two veteran Broncos stayed in the locker room Saturday night during the national anthem.
Linebacker Brandon Marshall and receiver Demaryius Thomas entered the field from behind the team's bench after the anthem ended prior to the Broncos' preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
The NFL and NFLPA pressed pause on the anthem policy as they work toward a resolution prior to the regular season. Until that time, discipline and fines will not be issued to teams or players. In the revision that is on hold, players were provided the option to remain in the locker room during the anthem with those on the field expected to stand. All players on the Broncos and Vikings on the field stood on Saturday night.
As a full slate of games began on Thursday, a handful of players demonstrated, including raising their fists. Two Miami Dolphins -- Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson -- took a knee.
